Age UK Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly is an independent local charity, working in the local community to help older people offering services and activities. They have a number of Active Living Hubs in Cornwall to help you learn new skills, gain confidence, improve mobility and have fun with friends.

Black Voices Cornwall offers support and guidance to victims of racism. The charity recognises sometimes having someone who ‘gets’ what you’re going through or what you’re been through, is incredibly important. It can often feel very isolating for victims of racism and BVC looks to offer any support they can and signpost if they can’t.

Cornwall Mobility Centre provides help to older and disabled people (including young children) by providing or assisting in the provision of mobility aids. Services include driving and equipment assessments, adaptations and an information and advice service.

Cruse Bereavement Care is the leading national charity for bereaved people. They offer support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone dies, and work to enhance society’s care of bereaved people.

If your Social Care Assessment shows that you have eligible social care needs, you can decide whether to arrange the care and support yourself or have the support arranged by the Council.  

If you choose to arrange the care and support yourself a personal budget will be provided to help meet those needs.  This is arranged as a Direct Payment.  They will give you the personal budget to arrange your own care and support.

They offer assistance to people in a number of ways including a national network of branches, accredited volunteers, regular regional conferences and freephone and email helplines.

The National Domestic Abuse Helpline offers free, non-judgemental information and support to women experiencing domestic abuse, their family, friends, colleagues and others calling on their behalf. The Helpline can support to find specialist domestic abuse services in your community for ongoing support.
They can also help to find a space in a refuge for you and your children.
